BRIDGETOWN was granted Historical Town status by the National Trust of Australia in 2000, and is the only town in the South West to be granted this.   

Nestled amongst the hills of the Blackwood River Valley,  Bridgetown has a unique blend of old world buildings and modern day facilities.  Home to a vibrant community of artists, musicians and wood craftsmen - there is something to interest everyone.  Visit our many art galleries, have a coffee at one of our cafes, visit a winery , Cidery or perhaps one of our beautiful gardens that are open to the public.  Home to the unique Brierley Jigsaw Gallery - a must see! 

Bridgetown plays host to a number of festivals or sporting events throughout the year. The Words in the Valley Readers & Writers Festival is held in July while the  Festival of Country Gardens  and    The Taste of The Blackwood Festival are held in autumn and spring.   The Blackwood Marathon Relay is held in October  and  Blues at Bridgetown  is held in November. September sees the River being used for numerous boating events.  Tennis, Golf and Bowling Tournaments are also regular features. Things to See and Do:
Wag Walters Emporium Wag Walters Emporium  is a unique home wares and gift store, an Aladdin’s cave that will take your breath away.
Ashbil Community Garden 
The Rabbit Hole 8 Artist studios where they create and sell their art, art play space for learning new creative skills and gallery showcasing art from Blackwood Valley artists.
Levanda Grove    is an Alpaca and Olive Farm situated in the beautiful Blackwood Valley, just 4 km from Bridgetown.
Costume Magic After many years in designing and producing costumes for amateur theatre, Cherie opened Costume Magic in 2005 to cater to the demand for dress-ups and costume hire in Bridgetown & now the whole SouthWest region of WA.

The Cidery The Cidery, nestled in picturesque Bridgetown, specialises in producing premium boutique ciders, multi award winning beers, quality wines and hearty lunches – an ideal location for relaxing with family and friends under the shady river gums in summer or in front of the roaring fire in winter. Stroll through the heritage rose walk or take a peek into Bridgetown’s rich apple growing history.
