West Australian Wildflowers
The Busselton Wildflower Exhibition has been an annual event in the town for 83 years and is a great way to see the many wildflowers of the area showcased. The South West corner of Western Australia is renowned for having one of the richest and most diverse flora in the world. Seventy five per cent of the 11,000 species recorded in Western Australia grow in the South West of the state and this exhibition gives those unable to 'go bush' an opportunity to see a great variety of specimens.

Presented in an interesting and informative way, individual specimens of flowers and orchids are displayed with their botanical names, creating interest for both amateur and expert alike, whilst massed bowls of flowers bring the colour and perfume of spring indoors.

Organized by the Uniting Church of Busselton, the Exhibition attracts visitors from far and wide. The flowers are picked by people who hold a one day 'Pickers License' issued by the Department of Conservation. All pickers are conscious of the need to preserve our native flora and they endeavour to pick responsibly. Rare and endangered species are not picked.

In addition to the Wildflower Exhibition we have :
* a video of our beautiful Wildflowers running.
* a master craftsman can be seen at work turning local timbers.
* entries in a great Photographic Competition will be judged and displayed.
* enchanting works of Paper Engineering will be on display.
* crafts, cakes, produce and second hand books will be available for sale.
* teas and lunches will be available.
