BRIDGETOWN
was granted Historical Town status by the National Trust of Australia in
2000, and is the only town in the South West to be granted this.
Nestled
amongst the hills of the
Blackwood River
Valley, Bridgetown has a unique blend of old world buildings and
modern day facilities. Home
to a vibrant community of artists, musicians and wood craftsmen - there is
something to interest everyone. Visit
our many art galleries, have a coffee at one of our cafes, visit a winery
,
Cidery or perhaps one of our beautiful gardens that are open to the
public.
Home
to the unique Brierley Jigsaw Gallery - a must see!
Bridgetown
plays host to a number of festivals or sporting events throughout the
year. Come to the “Blues at
Bridgetown” or the “Festival of Country Gardens” in November,
“Blackwood Marathon Relay” in October or the Blackwood River Chamber
Music Festival in April. September
sees the River being used for numerous boating events.
Tennis, Golf and Bowling Tournaments are also regular features.
